“The United States must do more than just condemn acts of violence and mass shootings. A strong message, through new laws and stiff sentences that combat hate, are needed.
The National Crime Prevention Council celebrates safe communities. To do so, extra steps are needed that call for greater inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community, all religious groups, minorities, and others who are too often the victims of violence motivated by hate. Each person who was struck down by a bullet, was someone’s child, grandchild, or friend.
The United States can and should be a better nation.”
